Bleaching My Hair - A Painful Proces...

This is a little photo story I did the other day to document how I bleach my roots to almost match the rest of my hair. In total it takes one packet of bleach, one packet of toner/colour, two hours and a great deal of pain. What you don't do in the name of beauty :)

Just a little warning: Always remember to read the instructions carefully and only use products as described. If it's your first time to bleach or dye you hair it's advised to do an allergy test to make sure you can tolerate the product and don't get a bad reaction!

So here we go...

BEFORE... with dry hair

I applied one box of bleach (strength L1+) to my roots.

Round one: bleaching the roots

Now my hair is a lovely pee yellow colour - not the desired effect, but that can easily be fixed in step two.

The colour/toner I use to remove the yellowness is an ASH BLONDE color:
L'Oreal Récital Préférence in Stockholm.

Arrrgh... this step is really painful, because my scalp is sore from the first round of bleach. At the same time it looks like my hair is turning a horrible shade of purply grey!!!

But fear not, it's all part of the fun of bleaching and the end result it all worth it :)

two hours later... et voila... freshly bleached hair

You can see that my roots are still a little bit more yellow than the ends of my hair, but if I wanted to have them even lighter I would need to use the L1+ bleach in two consecutive rounds, and I simply don't have the patience or money for that. I would advise that if you want to use two rounds of bleach, then to wait a day in between the sessions to make the proces a little less painful :)

I hope this was helpful!
