Konad and Essie Bermuda Shorts

Yeaterday I bought my first Neon nailpolish - Bermuda Shorts from Essie. I just spotted it in my local department store, and was sold! It's a really bright, vibrant neon fuschia with just a hint of purple. I don't own anything like it.

The Bermuda Shorts applied really well and dried really fast. I didn't find and streaking or difficulties :) It was opaque after just two coats which I like since I don't have the paintence to wait around for my polish to dry!

Since I'm not used to wearing such bright colours I decided to tone it down by applying a Konad stamp ontop. I choose a small lace design and placed it diagonally across my nails. I really liked the outcome! The only thing that kind of bugged me, was that the Konad stamp sort of changed colours once I applied a topcoat (see the picture down below). I just hadn't seen it coming, but I still like the result...

ESSIE Bermuda Shorts, KONAD special polish in White, KONAD Stamping Plate nr. m57

This is how it looks without a topcoat on. You can clearly see the satin finish of the neon nailpolish, and also the konad stamp is a lot more vibrant and white. As you can see in the pictures above, putting a top coat on makes some of the background colour transfer onto the white, turning it pink. I don't particularly mind the result, I just hadn't expected it :) So just a little heads up!

I hope you are having a fabulous time!

Re-creating a MAC face chart: Aristo-Cat from Fabulous Felines

I really liked the face chart called Aristo-Cat from the new MAC Fabulous Felines collection. Since this collection is not yet released in Europe, I have re-created the look using colours that I already have in my collection. I tried to find colours that were comparable to the ones from the collection by the description of them...

I have taken the pictures of the face chart from http://www.maccosmetics.com/

For the look I used:
Lightfall (s) from the In The Gallery quad as a dupe for Courtly
Illegal Cargo (f) LE as a dupe for Quite Spoiled
A mixture of Private Viewing (m) from the In The Gallery quad and Signed, Sealed (m) LE as a dupe for Palace Pedigeed.
On the cheeks I used Dainty Mineralized Blush as a dupe for Pet Me Mineralized Blush
On the lips I used NYX Fusion lipstick and African Queen lipgloss

And this is how the final look turned out:

I really hope you like it.
Take care
xoxo, Dominique

I made an Etsy shop – Made of Imagination

I have just opened my own Etsy shop where I’m going to sell different fashion accessories and unique works of art that I make in my spare time.

I’m super excited to present this to you, as it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for ages. I’m a really creative spirit and I continuously venture out to try different things regarding all things art-related.

Right now I am really into making simple bracelets made of thin string and beads. I like the simplicity of the design and love that it’s appropriate for any occasion.  Over time the bracelets simply become a part of you and your identity J

Further on I’m hoping to make some cute small bags that I already have a prototype of. They are made of wax cloth which makes them super durable and perfect to use as a make up bag. And they come in really cute prints and colours…

I really hope that you will check out my store and see if there is something in it for you…

go to madeofimagination.etsy.com to check it out!!!
